For over 35 years Radloff & Schmitz has been a trusted advisor for our clients; individuals, small businesses, estates and trusts. We provide personal and professional service to every client.
Our firm specializes in tax compliance and advising, trust and estate planning and small business consulting for individual and corporate clients. We advise our clients on various tax issues including self-employed businesses, real estate rentals, partnership income, stock options and other complex tax matters. Our expertise includes accounting and business services. We consult on retirement and succession planning for several closely held businesses in the area. Our clients include fiduciaries of estates and trusts, for which we provide compliance filing as well as consulting on income and distributions.
For all of our clients, we provide timely, personalized service throughout the year in addition to year-end planning and tax filing.
Erica received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and Public Policy from Duke University in 1994 and a Masters in Taxation from New York University in 1997. She began her accounting work in audit at Price Waterhouse in New York. Before returning to Virginia, she worked for a regional accounting firm in McAllen, TX.
Erica is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Virginia Society of Certified Public Accountants. She is active in the Northern Virginia Estate Planning Council and Northern Chapter of the VSCPA. Erica gives back to the community through pro bono work for local fire departments, religious institutions, and school organizations.
When not working she enjoys traveling, skiing, and cheering for the Duke Blue Devils. She has added the Virginia Tech Hokies and CU Boulder Buffs to the teams she supports.
In 1973, David O. Radloff opened his private practice in Falls Church, Virginia after heading the local tax department for Arthur Young & Co. in Washington D.C. The firm has been at its present location at Leigh Corners in Great Falls, since 1986. In 2001, his daughter Erica Schmitz joined him in the practice and the firm was renamed Radloff & Schmitz, PLLC. In 2015, David retired and now enjoys traveling and being with grandchildren.
